Prime ministers of Belarus, Russia to look for ways to resolve fuel, energy problems

MOSCOW, 30 March (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev suggested that he and Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov should look for ways to resolve the Belarusian-Russian fuel and energy problems during negotiations in Gorki, Moscow Oblast on 30 March, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Medvedev said: “We have quite a lot of issues to address. Most of the issues are well-known and are on the agenda. Cooperation between the fuel and energy industries tops the list. Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to resolve this issue for now but let’s try to look for ways out and for answers to the recent difficulties.”

The Prime Minister of Russia said he was ready to talk about other items on the agenda, too. “But definitely with a focus on the piled-up problems,” he remarked.

Dmitry Medvedev reminded that the two prime ministers get in touch rather a lot and they always have many things to discuss. “But it is no secret that today’s meeting is taking place in anticipation of the forthcoming meeting of the presidents of Belarus and Russia,” he said.
