MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Belarusian culture days will be held in Israel and Israeli culture days will be arranged in Belarus, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy after the session of the Belarusian-Israeli committee on trade and economic cooperation on 13 March.
According to the source, major events will be arranged to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Belarus-Israel relations. The governments and the embassies are already working on it. Among other things Belarusian culture days will be held in Israel and Israeli culture days will be arranged in Belarus.
Belarus and Israel work hard to increase the mutual tourism traffic. In 2016 the Israeli air carrier Arkia started air service between Minsk and Tel Aviv in addition to Belavia’s air service. Nevertheless, Belavia managed to increase passenger transportation by almost 20% from 2015, said Mikhail Rusy.
Israeli Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver said that a protocol had been signed as a result of the session of the Belarusian-Israeli committee on trade and economic cooperation. The sides view the document as a roadmap that lays down priorities for this year. The priorities include trade, agriculture, culture, science, and tourism. “We see that a lot has been done but we have to go a long way, there are things we should accomplish,” explained the official.
Mikhail Rusy said: “Cooperation prospects are very good. The governments of Israel and Belarus have an interest in each other. The document signed today confirms it.”
