New Minsk Oblast governor appointedMINSK, 4 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Anatoly Isachenko Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko said: “The oblast is a large one, half the country. I cannot say the oblast has been developed well. You may have felt it while working as an aide. But every governor has contributed something to the development of Minsk Oblast.”

The head of state remarked that Anatoly Isachenko knows how the entire power vertical works and has the necessary experience.

Alexander Lukashenko added: “I would very much like you to succeed in Minsk Oblast. You can count on me if you need help. Take a look at the situation once again from your new office. Tell me about your plans concerning the council of deputies. Tell me in what direction we are going to act.”

New Minsk Oblast governor appointedThe president also said it is necessary to more intensively and more often rotate personnel.

Up till now Anatoly Isachenko has been working as the aide to the Belarus president for Minsk Oblast, the inspector for Minsk Oblast.

The Minsk Oblast Council of Deputies is expected to approve the appointment of Anatoly Isachenko as the chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee on 5 July.
