MPs of Belarus, China hail high level of political trust

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang during the visit to Hong Kong, BelTA learnt from the press service of the House of Representatives.

“The parties praised the high level of political trust, strengthening of all-round strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of Belarus and China. The parties also discussed the progress made in the implementation of the initiative One Belt, One Road,” the press service said.

Zhang Dejiang took note of the historic last year’s visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Belarus and expressed confidence in the success of the Chine-Belarus Industrial Park which should become a strong foothold of the project. Viktor Guminsky reaffirmed the invitation sent earlier to Zhang Dejiang on behalf of the Belarusian parliament to pay an official visit to the country.

Viktor Gumisnky also held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Hong Kong Philip Yung. The parties shared opinions on the prospects to develop all-round cooperation with the special administrative region Xianggang (Hong Kong, China).

The Vice Speaker took part in the opening ceremony of the One Belt, One Road forum in Hong Kong. Viktor Gumisnky also met with Finance Minister of the special administrative region Xianggang John Tsang and the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the special administrative region Xianggang. “The parties hailed prospects for building up business and interregional cooperation. Visa facilitation issues were discussed with Xianggang. Viktor Guminsky got familiar with the history and current operation of the Legislative Assembly,” the press service added.
