BRUSSELS, 24 November (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to do everything possible to help end the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media after the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels on 24 November, BelTA has learned.
When asked about the details associated with the minister's recent statement of Belarus' readiness to send peacekeepers to Ukraine, Vladimir Makei noted: “I said that we are ready to send peacekeepers to the Donbass if this is acceptable to all the parties concerned. The talks on the matter are underway at the UN Security Council in New York. We cannot dictate our will to any of the stakeholders. We are talking about a hypothetical possibility and about our readiness to send our peacekeepers if it is acceptable to all the parties,” Vladimir Makei said.
“We sincerely want the conflict in eastern Ukraine to be over as soon as possible. In this regard we are an interested party. We are ready to do everything possible and impossible to stop this conflict,” he added.
