MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko intends to visit various units of the State Border Committee in the second half of the week, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
Alexander Lukashenko served as a border guard when he was young. The head of state is expected to visit Belarusian border service units in Brest Oblast. The president will get familiar with the service and living standards of Belarusian border guards. He will talk to the personnel and their families.
In the congratulation sent by the head of state to the Belarusian border service on the occasion of the 100th anniversary since the Belarusian border guard was established Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the Belarusian border guard personnel will live up to the trust the Belarusian nation gives them and will use their strength, experience, and mastery to ensure stability and order at the state border. The congratulation reads: “The history of the border guardians is a bright and heroic page in the chronicles of our country. We take pride in the deeds committed by the border guards and bow low to the memory of those, who gave their lives in the name of the fatherland.”
