Lukashenko congratulates Metropolitan Pavel on 25th anniversary of ordination
MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of birthday greetings to Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus and congratulated him on the 25th anniversary of ordination, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“You have devoted your life to serving the church, promotion of the noble principles of Christianity. Your activities instill hope in people, reveal the beauty of faith, promote compassion,” the message of greetings reads.
The head of state remarked that Eastern Orthodoxy is the moral foundation of the Belarusian society, the social and spiritual institution having a strong influence on the development of the modern world today.
“We highly appreciate your efforts to promote the ideals of kindness, faith, and patriotism. In this difficult time Christian values unite people in the name of justice and care of close people, help us cope with many challenges in the modern world,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
