Lukashenko: BRICS is rapidly becoming a counterbalance of the multipolar world

UFA, 9 July (BelTA) – The BRICS association is rapidly becoming an important and sought-after counterbalance in the complicated formation process of the multipolar world. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement during the meeting of leaders of the BRICS member states and leaders of the invited countries, BelTA has learned.

“BRICS member states do not precondition cooperation and mutual aid on some additional requirements. They have no intention to dictate their will to other states,” noted the Belarusian head of state.

In his opinion, at present BRICS countries are engines of economic development. The fact is particularly important for stabilizing the state of affairs in the global economy. “They help other countries secure post-crisis recovery,” said the Belarusian leader. “Moreover, today all the BRICS participants become real centers of integration attraction in their regions.”

“Frankly speaking, such approaches and trends tie in well with the philosophy and practical steps of our country,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.

“For leading global players the contribution of the BRICS countries to the formation of harmonious and fair international relations is obvious. This is why any attempts to resolve global problems without these countries are counterproductive,” believes the Belarus President.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus highly appreciates the opportunity of having a direct and open dialogue with leaders of BRICS and other countries taking part in the forum.

“I am convinced that our meeting will create the foundation for expanding and invigorating relations between the countries represented here,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
