MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) - The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed a decree to approve a draft agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the United States of America on the improvement of compliance with international tax rules and the implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) as a basis for further talks, BelTA learned from the president’s press service.
The Ministry of Taxes and Duties has been authorized to hold the negotiations on the draft agreement.
In addition, the President approved as a basis for further talks the draft protocols amending the protocol on the procedure of levying indirect taxes in works and services in the Customs Union and the protocol on the procedure of levying indirect taxes and their payment control mechanism in exports and imports of goods in the Customs Union dated by 11 December 2009.
The Finance Ministry has been authorized to hold the negotiations on the draft protocols and sign them.
The decrees stipulate that the protocols will be provisionally applied from the date of signature until the entry into force.
