MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) - The National Council of Slovakia has set up a friendship group with Belarus, Chairman of the Parliamentary Constitutional Committee Robert Madej said as he met with Belarusian Ambassador Igor Leshchenya, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The group of friendship includes 16 MPs.

“The parties noted that the establishment of the group of friendship with Belarus at the Slovak Parliament is a testament to the real interest of Slovak parliamentarians in developing cooperation with the Belarusian colleagues,” the press service noted.

Igor Leshchenya and Robert Madej discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, and the role of parliaments in strengthening trade, economic, and regional ties between Belarus and Slovakia.
