MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) - The final decision to hold the OSCE PA session in Belarus in the summer 2017 will be adopted at the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi in the next few days, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the close of the ninth session of parliament of the fifth convocation, BelTA has learned.

“Today the Belarusian delegation is leaving for Tbilisi to participate in the annual summer session. The theme of the session “25 years of parliamentary cooperation: building trust through dialogue” is dedicated to an important historical event - the adoption of the Madrid Declaration, which formed the basis of the parliamentary dimension of the OSCE. This visit to Tbilisi is important for us because the session will adopt the final decision to hold the summer session of this authoritative international organization in Minsk in 2017,” Vladimir Andreichenko noted.

He also noted that contacts have intensified between Belarus and PACE. The format of meetings, their themes and content are changing in a positive way. The roundtable on improving the electoral process that took place in the House of Representatives was useful for all participants. We are trying to find the real points of contact and, of course, continue the dialogue including in the course of the international observation of the parliamentary elections in Belarus,” the chairman of the lower house of parliament said.
