Delegation of Union State PA to take part in Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk

MOSCOW, 7 July (BelTA) – The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State (Union State PA) will take part in the 24th international festival of arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk. BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.

The delegation will include five MPs: Andrei Naumovich, the chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for information policy, chairman of the permanent commission of the House of Representatives for human rights, national relations and mass media; Nikolai Kazarovets, the deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues, chairman of the permanent commission of the Council of the Republic for education, science, culture and social development; Alexander Segodnik, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues, chairman of the permanent commission of the House of Representatives for education, culture and science; Vladimir Vasilenko, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues, chairman of the permanent commission of the House of Representatives for labor and social issues; Svetlana Maksimova, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for ecology, environmental management and mitigation of consequences of accidents, member of the Russian State Duma Committee for agrarian issues.

On 9 July the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee will host a press conference dedicated to the opening of the festival. Partaking in the conference will be Alexander Segodnik, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues. Then the MPs will attend the opening ceremony of the 24th international festival of art Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk.

The Union State Day will take place at the festival on 10 July. Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly, the Union State Permanent Committee and Great Patriotic War veterans will lay flowers at the Eternal Flame in Vitebsk. The MPs will visit an institution for the education of children left without parental care, meet with the administration and teachers of the orphanage. The Summer Amphitheater will host the concert Union State Invites. Connecting Space and Time in the evening. In the official part of the event Andrei Naumovich, the chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for information policy, will read out a message of greetings from Sergei Naryshkin, the chairman of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly and speaker of the State Duma of Russia.

“The first Union State Day took place at the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk in 2003. The MPs have regularly taken part in the festival since then,” the press release of the press service reads.

At the end of the festival the MPs will traditionally present special prizes from Belarus and Russia to the winners of the international pop song contest, the best singers of the junior song contest in the nominations The Best Pop Singer from the Republic of Belarus an and the Best Pop Singer from the Russian Federation, the names of the winners will be announced at the closing ceremony of the 24th international festival of art Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk.
