MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Another meeting of the trilateral contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine's east has begun in Minsk, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The meeting of the contact group was prceded by sessions of the subgroups.
The previous meeting of the trilateral contact group took place in Minsk on 13 June. Then the subgroup on economic affairs discussed further steps on restoring and improving Vodafone Ukraine mobile communication service in certain parts of Donetsk Oblast and Lugansk Oblast and also the water supply matters. The subgroup on humanitarian affairs continued discussing the exchange of prisoners of war and their accommodation conditions as well as search for missing persons. Allowing civilians to more easily cross the contact line, including in Stanitsa Luganskaya, was an important part of the discussion. The subgroup on political affairs continued discussing the implementation of the so-called Steinmeier formula, the amnesty, and the modality of municipal elections in certain parts of Donetsk Oblast and Lugansk Oblast.
