MOSCOW, 26 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian National Union of Consumer Societies (Belkoopsoyuz) has signed an agreement on strategic cooperation with the Central Union of Consumer Societies of the Russian Federation (Centrosoyuz of Russia) to expand trade, scientific and social cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.
The document was signed by Chairman of the Board of Belkoopsoyuz Valery Ivanov and Chairman of the Board of Centrosoyuz Dmitry Zubov.
According to the head of Belkoopsoyuz, the agreement will create a new format of cooperation, beneficial for both countries. “We will have to work out and implement new methods of joint work to comply with the current economic realities. We have signed an agreement which outlines promising areas of cooperation. They will be specified in the near future. First of all, we plan to increase the trade between cooperative organizations of Belarus and Russia, find new suppliers and new markets,” Valery Ivanov said.
Dmitry Zubov stressed for his part that joint work opens up not only additional opportunities for trade development, but also serious prospects for expanding cultural, scientific and social cooperation. “We are reviving the cooperative unity with our nearest neighbors, restoring trade and economic ties. Our common goal is to make the life of the rural population in our countries better. While developing cooperation, we remember that cooperation is not only business, but also an important social mission to support the rural population, develop education, culture, sports and science. We intend to interact not only in the field of trade and production, but also in education: projects for student teams, student exchange and sport, and also the development of digital infrastructure for consumer cooperation,” he said.
