Congratulations on Independence Day continue flowing to Belarus

MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) – Congratulations on Independence Day sent by foreign heads of state, foreign politicians and cultural figures to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and the Belarusian nation continue flowing in, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

So far Independence Day congratulations have been received from many leaders of CIS countries, the European Union, and other foreign leaders. The number includes Pope Francis, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Elizabeth II, Emperor of Japan Akihito, King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Netherlands Willem-Alexander, King of Jordan Abdullah II, Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said, King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prince and Great Magister of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta Robert Matthew Festing.

The Belarusian head of state has also been congratulated by the presidents of Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Switzerland, Serbia, Singapore, Ecuador, the UAE, Egypt, India, Vietnam, by the president of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, and by the governors general of Canada and the Commonwealth of Australia.

Congratulations have been sent by leaders of international organizations, too. The number includes the UN secretary general, the director general of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, and the secretary general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

In his telegram President of Russia Vladimir Putin noted positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation, the high level of interaction between the two countries in the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Commonwealth of Independent States. “Ties of brotherly friendship and comradery, which have been tempered by years of wars, are now crucial to the successful development of Russian-Belarusian allied relations,” the Russian head of state stressed.

Vladimir Putin is confident that the entire range of Belarusian-Russian mutually beneficial relations will continue growing stronger for the benefit of the two nations.

The congratulatory address sent by China President Xi Jinping reads that under the leadership of Alexander Lukashenko the development of the Belarusian state has achieved noticeable success while the country’s influence in the international scene has increased. In his words, China is genuinely pleased with Belarus’ accomplishments. “I attach great importance to the advancement of Belarusian-Chinese relations and would like to confirm my readiness to work together to direct both sides towards stronger cooperation in various fields with a view to continuously filling the bilateral relations with content for the benefit of the two nations,” Xi Jinping said.

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev stated that Belarus and Kazakhstan are connected by solid ties of friendship and mutual understanding. “I am confident that the joint efforts aimed at bolstering the mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation and the successful advancement of integration processes in the Eurasian space will not change,” remarked Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko underscored that the advancement of Belarusian-Ukrainian good neighborly relations on principles of equal partnership and trust represents an important priority. Petro Poroshenko noted with satisfaction the dynamics of multifaceted cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine, including in trade and economic affairs.

The congratulatory address sent by Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier draws attention to the noticeable invigoration of relations between the countries. “The Republic of Belarus also deserves respect for its active involvement in European efforts to preserve peace and security by organizing negotiations in Minsk,” pointed out the German leader.

Poland President Andrzej Duda hopes for further advancement of good neighborly relations between people of Belarus and Poland in the spirit of friendship and cooperation for the sake of stability and security in Europe.

The congratulatory address sent by Italy President Sergio Mattarella reads: “I am confident that the resumed dialogue between Minsk and the European Union, which Italy has always been a strong supporter of, will create the favorable context for further joint initiatives.”

Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang noted with satisfaction that Belarus-Vietnam multilateral cooperation grows stronger all the time and advances in such areas as politics, trade and economy, science and technology, cultural affairs, and tourism.

The congratulatory address sent by Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reads: “I would like to mention the achieved level of cooperation and friendly relations between our countries. Let me express confidence in the fact that our cooperation in new spheres, foundation for which was laid down as part of my visit to your country on 11 November 2016, will reach even higher levels.”

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia wished Alexander Lukashenko and all residents of Belarus strong health, prosperity, and divine assistance in all good endeavors.

Pope Francis also wished divine blessings to the leadership and citizens of Belarus.

The congratulatory address sent by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reads: “While you are celebrating this special day, I count on your active participation and your country’s contribution to building stronger United Nations and invigorating our joint efforts in ensuring peace, development, and human rights for all.”

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made a statement for mass media to send congratulations on Independence Day to the people of Belarus on behalf of the American people. In particular, he noted that by means of the continued diplomatic and interpersonal cooperation the USA and Belarus will work to promote common interests of the two countries.
