MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei will pay a working visit to Spain from 13 to 15 June, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told the media on 8 June, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian minister will visit Spain at the invitation of Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Alfonso Dastis Quecedo. The main event of the visit will be a meeting to discuss a wide range of matters of bilateral and multilateral interaction, cooperation in international organizations, and prospects for further development of the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union.
Besides, Vladimir Makei is scheduled to meet with Spain’s legislative and executive authorities and businessmen. Plans have been made to sign bilateral agreements to step up the Belarusian-Spanish cooperation.
Vladimir Makei will attend the opening of the third Belarusian-Spanish business forum and meet with representatives of the Belarusian community (the Spanish side reports that some 5,000 Belarusian citizens reside permanently in Spain). The Belarusian minister will also attend the presentation of a collection of translations of Maxim Bogdanovich’s poetry into Spanish.
“The visit is aimed at intensifying the relations between the two countries, including in trade, economy, and investment, and at strengthening Belarus’ cooperation with the European Union,” Dmitry Mironchik said.
