Belarus, Zimbabwe discuss cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing sector

MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Zimbabwe discussed interaction in agriculture and production sector, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to South Africa with non-concurrent accreditation to Zimbabwe Alexander Sidoruk presented credentials to Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa. During the meeting the sides discussed the most promising spheres of cooperation. The participation of Belarusian companies in the mechanization of Zimbabwean agriculture was mentioned as well as the development of the production sector and the mechanical engineering through the establishment of joint ventures to assemble Belarusian machines and vehicles. The sides also paid attention to the export of education services and getting young Zimbabwean trained in Belarusian universities.

In Harare the Belarusian ambassador also met with Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Sibusiso Moyo, Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Perence Shiri, and Permanent Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministry Melusi Matshiya. Promising avenues for advancing Belarus-Zimbabwe cooperation were discussed.
