Belarus, Vietnam to cooperate in combating drug trafficking, illegal migration

MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Vietnam will develop cooperation in combating drug trafficking and illegal migration, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Interior Ministry.

Belarusian Interior Minister Igor Shunevich met with Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam in Minsk on 2 March. A Vietnamese delegation is currently in Belarus on a visit to take part in the events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Belarusian police.

During the official meeting, Igor Shunevich said that the Belarusian Interior Ministry is ready to advance the mutually beneficial cooperation in different areas of activity.

For his part, Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam emphasized the high level of cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam and expressed confidence that the countries will continue to collaborate in combating drug trafficking, trafficking in human beings, illegal migration, and hi-tech crimes. The countries will also develop cooperation in professional training and retraining.

To Lam extended greetings to Belarusian police officers and thanked the Belarusian side for the favorable working and living conditions created for Vietnamese citizens in Belarus.
