MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – A delegation of the U.S. Department of State led by Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink met with representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 18 May to discuss cooperation opportunities in international organizations, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Representatives of the U.S. Department of State met with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei. The sides discussed the state of Belarusian-American relations and prospects of their development, exchanged views on the situation in the European region, said the press service.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna also met with the U.S. Department of State delegation. The meeting focused on the development of bilateral cooperation, particularly economic interaction, as well as opportunities for cooperation in several areas in international organizations.
The third round of the Belarusian-American dialogue on human rights took place in Minsk. During the event representatives of the governments of Belarus and the USA exchanged views on human rights matters and discussed individual issues, on which the views differ.
