MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Belarus and Ukraine are set to create the conditions to expand the strategic partnership, the press service of the Belarusian Minsitry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA when commenting on the meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Ukrainian joint commission on trade and economic cooperation in Chernigov.
"The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest and focus of the two parties to create the conditions for further expansion of the strategic partnership in all areas of the economy," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
During the meeting the parties discussed current issues and prospects of bilateral cooperation in industry and agriculture, between regions and interaction in the area of transport. “Particular attention was paid to the implementation of investment potential, the development of industrial cooperation and financial instruments of support of the mutual trade,” the press service said.
The commission is headed by Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko and Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Economy Gennady Zubko.
