Belarus to showcase drones, advanced radars, anti-drone gun in Dubai

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – The latest technologies and capabilities of the Belarusian defense industry will be showcased during the aerospace technology expo Dubai Airshow 2017, BelTA learned from Vladimir Lavrenyuk, spokesman of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus.

The Belarusian exposition will feature products of OAO KB Radar, OAO 2566 Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant, and the R&D Center for Multifunctional Unmanned Complexes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB). The products on display will represent the latest defense technologies and capabilities of the defense sector of the Belarusian economy with regard to the development and production of aerial robots, modern radars, radio warfare solutions, solutions for fighting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Solutions for the profound modernization of air defense missile systems and radio warfare systems for air defense purposes will be prominent.

OAO 2566 Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant will present breadboard models of the modernized combat vehicle BM 9A33-1B, which makes part of the air defense missile system Osa, and capabilities for modernizing the mobile altitude finding radar PRV-13. The modernized combat vehicle BM 9A33-1B can detect targets farther — up to 52.5km — and with better precision. The capabilities of the modernized combat vehicle have been proven by live tests. Some 70% of the standard radioelectronic package of the combat vehicle has been upgraded.

The R&D Center for Multifunctional Unmanned Complexes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will demonstrate its ability to design and make aerial drones. The company will showcase the small-range drone Busel-M with a variety of loadouts, the Busel M50 drone with the operational radius of up to 70km, the emergency response service drone Burevestnik, an unmanned aerial system for environmental monitoring based on a dirigible with the operational radius of up to 50km, and the special purpose drone Burevestnik MB.

Apart from the three-dimensional radar Vostok 3D, which can effectively detect stealth aircraft, OAO KB Radar will showcase its anti-drone radio warfare station Groza-S and the anti-drone gun Groza-R. The anti-drone radio warfare station Groza-S was developed in summer 2016. It has been tested in various countries with excellent results: the station always saw the entire frequency range that aircraft-type and helicopter-type drones can use.

The 15th international aerospace expo Dubai Airshow 2017 will take place in Dubai on 12-16 November. The participation of Belarusian companies in the expo represents an important part of Belarus-UAE military and technical cooperation. The expo will also offer an excellent opportunity to showcase capabilities of Belarusian defense companies and expand business cooperation with foreign companies.
