Belarus shows interest in joint environmental projects with Italy

MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) - Belarus is showing interest in the implementation of joint environmental projects with Italy. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Andrei Khudyk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Belarus Stefano Bianchi, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Andrei Khudyk emphasized Belarus’ interest in the development of cooperation with Italy in the environmental area, possible implementation of joint nature protection projects, and also the attraction of Italian companies to investment projects related to waste management, water management, climate and green economy.

The parties discussed the cooperation between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Italian embassy in attracting to Belarus the foreign expert and technical potential for the development of green economy in the country. The minister also invited Italy to take part in the themed seminar Eco-Friendly Technologies as part of the CEI business forum Energy Efficient and Eco-Friendly Technologies and noted that the participation of Italian companies in the seminar would help outline new promising areas of cooperation.

The parties expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation between Belarus and Italy in environmental protection.
