Belarus, Russia mulling agreement to enhance cooperation in competition policy

MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are working on an agreement to enhance cooperation in the competition policy, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia Anatoly Golomolzin said at the international conference “Antimonopoly regulation in the EAEU countries: major trends and practices in law enforcement” on 29 May, BelTA has learned.

“A framework memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Belarusian Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade in 2016. We are now working on an intergovernmental agreement to boost cooperation in the competition policy. The signing of the document will help enhance the efficiency of our joint work. The document is aimed at the development of our economies,” said Anatoly Golomolzin.

Speaking about the development of competition in the CIS and the EAEU, Anatoly Golomolzin noted that this work considerably improves the conditions of economic cooperation between the two countries.
