Belarus president's visit to Moldova over

CHISINAU, 19 April (BelTA) – The official visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Moldova is now over. The aircraft with the Belarusian head of state on board has left Chisinau International Airport for Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip saw off Alexander Lukashenko at the airport.

The Belarus president and his Moldovan counterpart have visited the Porumbeni Horticulture Institute. Alexander Lukashenko was briefed on the operation of the scientific institution and learned more about the seeds of agricultural crops grown by Moldovan scientists. Special attention was paid to the development of cooperation in crop farming with the Belarusian partners.

Then the two statesmen took part in took part in the Field Day ceremony, which begins the spring sowing campaign, and planted corn on a field.

The Belarusian head of state also met with Pavel Filip to talk over the expansion of economic relations in various sectors, including agriculture, food industry, industrial cooperation, and infrastructure projects. They put a special focus on the operation of joint ventures and the establishment of new ones, the development of cooperation in energy, humanitarian and law enforcement fields.

The parties signed a number of international documents to boost all-round cooperation.

Alexander Lukashenko invited Moldova’s prime minister and president to make a visit to Belarus. He reassured that Belarus will implement every agreement achieved with Moldova.

The Belarus president also had a meeting with ex-President of Moldova, Nicolae Timofti.
