Belarus PM to pay working visit to Tatarstan

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov is set to pay a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Federation on 25-26 May, spokesman for the Belarusian prime minister Vladislav Sychevich told BelTA.

On 25 May, Andrei Kobyakov is expected to hold talks with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, visit Technopolis Himgrad, Kazanorgsintez, and Kazan Arena.

On 26 May, the Belarusian prime minister will take part in the CIS Heads of Government Council and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meetings in Kazan. The Belarusian head of government may hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summits.

The CIS Heads of Government Council is expected to consider 13 draft documents aimed at promoting economic cooperation between the CIS member states and interaction in other areas. The draft agenda will include issues related to cooperation in the area of innovations, transport security, peaceful uses of atomic energy, training of specialists in geodesy, cartography, cadastre and earth remote sensing. The heads of government will consider documents regulating cooperation in electronic navigation, countermeasures to counterfeit products, intellectual property protection, and other matters.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will discuss the issues related to the economic sector, customs cooperation, industry and agro-industrial complex. The heads of government of the EAEU member states will consider the annual report of the Eurasian Economic Commission on monitoring the assessment of the regulatory control of the commission’s draft decisions in 2016. The meeting will also consider the organization of joint research and development works in the agro-industrial complex of the EAEU member states and the draft agreement on voluntary coordination of specific subsidies in respect to industrial goods by the EAEU member states and the EEC.
