Belarus’ parliament to consider EEU Treaty in late 2014  

LYUBAN, 30 July (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Union Treaty will be submitted for consideration to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus in November-December 2014, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told media on 30 July, BelTA has learnt.

“As for the submission of the document to the parliament, our ministries and agencies are currently working on the issue. It is a big and very serious document. I can not specify the date and think it will take place somewhere in November-December,” the speaker said.

Vladimir Andreichenko stressed that during a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the State Union of Belarus and Russia in Brest an agreement was reached with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergei Naryshkin that after the document is submitted to the House of Representatives and the State Duma it will be ratified simultaneously by the two parties. When asked about the expectations from the Eurasian Economic Union, Vladimir Andreichenko said: “Scientists and expects have calculated already that the development of the union will increase the aggregate gross product of the three countries by $900 billion by 2030.”

The Eurasian Economic Union Treaty was signed by the presidents of the Customs Troika in Astana in late May 2014.
