MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Oman are determined to actively cooperate in the cultural sector. A memorandum of understanding in heritage and culture was signed between the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Ministry of Heritage and Culture of the Sultanate of Oman, BelTA learned from the Belarusian ministry.

The signing of the memorandum and the agreement on cooperation between the history museums of Belarus and Oman took place during the visit of Belarus’ Culture Minister Yuri Bondar to Oman on 31 March – 3 April.

During a meeting between Yuri Bondar and Omani Minister of Heritage and Culture, member of the royal family Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, an interest was showed in Belarus’ practices to preserve historical and culture heritage.

The parties also talked over a possible performance of the companies of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus in Oman and attended the opening of the exhibition project "Belarus at the Crossroads of Civilizations" prepared by the National History Museum in the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman in Muscat.
