MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Nigeria agree on the need to enhance the level of bilateral dialogue. The matter was discussed during the second round of the Belarusian-Nigerian ministerial consultations that took place in Abuja, Nigeria on 4 April, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Belarusian delegation at the consultations was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. The Nigerian delegation was headed by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Deputy Minister) Bulus Lolo. The parties discussed the current agenda of bilateral relations, shared opinions on the most important issues. “The head of the Belarusian delegation apprised the participants of the consultations of Belarus’ approaches to the development of cooperation with Nigeria, including in the trade, economic and education sectors. The parties agreed on the need to intensify and enhance the level of bilateral dialogue,” the press service said.
On 4 April Valentin Rybakov also met with businessmen of Nigeria and heads of representations of Belarusian companies-exporters in West Africa. The sides talked over the setting up of plants in Nigeria to assemble tractors and automotive vehicles, the operation of the Belarusian trading house in Lagos, the organization of a visit for Nigerian businessmen to Belarus. The parties signed memorandums of understanding on the supplies of Belarusian equipment.
