MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Kyrgyzstan will discuss the formation and development of regional air defense systems in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

Chief of the Air Defense Command of the Kyrgyz army Kylychbek Aidaraliyev is in Belarus on a visit on 24-26 October. During the visit representatives of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are expected to discuss matters concerning the formation and development of regional air defense systems of the CSTO member states. The best practices in organizing air defense combat duties, including as part of the united CIS air defense system, will be shared. Plans have been made to discuss prospects of advancing military cooperation and military and technical cooperation between the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Command and the Air Defense Command of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan.

Members of the Kyrgyz delegation will also be made familiar with the production, repair, and modernization of weapons, military hardware and special hardware for Air Force and Air Defense units at Belarusian defense industry enterprises.
