MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – The Central Office of Belarus’ Investigative Committee hosted a working meeting with a group of experts of the Council of Europe (CoE) in the fight against cyber crime on 23 October, BelTA learned from the Investigative Committee.
“In the first place, the delegates were interested in matters related to the collection and storage of evidence in Belarus, including electronic evidence, as well as in cooperation between pre-trial investigation bodies and telecom companies. Summing up the results of the meeting, Mikhail Vavulo, head of the International Legal Department of Belarus’ Investigative Committee, underlined the interest in further constructive cooperation with European partners in the fight against cyber crimes and other kinds of crimes,” the committee noted.
The visit of the CoE delegation to Belarus was arranged within the framework of the Cybercrime@EAP III project implemented within the European Union and the CoE Programmatic Cooperation Framework in the Eastern Partnership region to study public-private cooperation in the fight against high-technology crimes.
