Belarus, China plan to declare 2018 Year of Tourism

MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China intend to declare 2018 the Year of Tourism between the two countries, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Shandong Province Governor Gong Zheng, BelTA has learned.

Belarus and China have been working on enabling favorable conditions for tourism development. They have launched the air service Beijing-Minsk-Budapest-Beijing; Belarus is training tour guides with Chinese language skills. “Our governments are considering declaring 2018 the Belarus-China Year of Tourism,” Andrei Kobyakov noted.

The prime minister invited Shandong Province to support the intergovernmental initiative and declare 2018 the Year of Tourism between Shandong and Vitebsk Oblast.

Andrei Kobyakov reaffirmed that the Belarusian government will keep providing every kind of assistance to cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese regions.
