MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – The Central Election Committee of Belarus welcomed a delegation of the European Parliament led by Bogdan Zdrojewski, chair of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Belarus, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian election organization agency.

Secretary of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Yelena Dmukhailo informed members of the European Parliament delegation about preparations for the elections to the municipal councils of deputies, which are supposed to take place in Belarus in 2018. Bogdan Zdrojewski described the elections as very important for the country.

Enabling equal conditions for candidates was also discussed during the meeting.

The next elections to the municipal councils of deputies in Belarus are supposed to take place on 20 February 2018 at the latest. The Central Election Committee of Belarus has suggested holding the elections on 18 February.
