Azerbaijan president meets with Belarusian ambassador

Azerbaijan president meets with Belarusian ambassador

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev met with Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich on 14 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“During the meeting the parties discussed the status and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in various fields and the upcoming visit of the Azerbaijan president to Belarus in November this year,” the embassy said.

The Azerbaijani head of state also touched upon some issues on the international agenda.

As BelTA reported earlier, on 12 November Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with Azerbaijan Ambassador to Belarus Latif Gandilov. The main reason was also the forthcoming visit of Ilham Aliyev to Belarus. The Belarusian head of state noted that since the beginning of the year Belarus-Azerbaijan trade has more than tripled as compared to the same period a year prior. However, the potential for interaction between the two countries is much higher. “You should know that we are your friend and are always ready to meet you halfway. Our agreements with Ilham Aliyev are sacred. Everything we agreed on will be fulfilled on our end. Belarus has no closed topics in cooperation with Azerbaijan,” the Belarus leader stressed during the meeting.
