Lukashenko: Belarus’ experience of military construction in demand abroad

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ experience of military construction is in demand in the CIS and non-CIS states, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the official meeting held on 22 February to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Belarus, BelTA informs.

The experience of military construction in Belarus is currently in demand in the CIS and non-CIS states. Constant attention is paid to the development of joint security projects. More and more countries are willing to send members of their armed forces, up to the highest rank, to our Military Academy,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

The further strengthening of bilateral relations with the Russian Federation is among the main avenues of international cooperation, one of the most important ones, the president noted.

“The strategic exercise Zapad 2017 held last year showed the high level of our military cooperation. It was unprecedentedly open. International observers were able to observe the exercise and its exclusively defensive nature,” the head of state noted.

Military-technical cooperation has been consistently evolving with other countries, particularly with the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Alexander Lukashenko recalled that last year Belarus chaired the CSTO. On the initiative of Belarus, the Combat Brotherhood 2017 exercise was held in two regions with the participation of the national military contingents.
