Dobrush Paper Mill investment project worth $348.6m

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Dobrush Paper Mill plans to set up a manufacturing complex to produce coated board and mill blanks, BelTA learnt from the Bellesbumprom Concern.

“This kind of production will satisfy the needs of the country’s food, light, medical and polygraph industries in the product which is imported now,” specialists noted. Apart from that, this investment project is export-oriented. The future plant will produce 200,000 tonnes of cardboard annually.

The general contractor of the project is Chinese Xuan Yuan Corporation with which Belarus has signed a contact worth $348.6 million. The contract will be financed through the China Development Bank.

According to Bellesbumprom, bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp will make the basis for the production of new types of cardboard. It will be produced using local raw material: paper wood.

The new project will help implement a program of technical refit and upgrading of the main production funds, increase overall production and sales, fatten the sales profit, improve efficiency of the production and commercial operations as well as working conditions for the personnel of the factory.
