Coface insurance now available for Belarus

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Coface insurance services are now available for the Republic of Belarus. France included Belarus into the group of countries that can use medium-term export insurance with a general limit of €500 million in 2010, BelTA learnt from the French Embassy in Minsk.

“This decision was made by the French authorities following the visit of First Vice-Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko to Paris in January 2010. A possibility to provide insurance of export loans was discussed by the Belarusian delegation at numerous meetings held in France. France studied Belarus’ position and made a favorable decision,” the French Embassy informed.

The diplomatic mission underlined that an increasing number of French enterprises is interested in investing in Belarus and France wants to support them.

The French authorities welcome Belarus’ efforts to boost the bilateral cooperation and the cooperation with the other EU member states.
