MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Medical scientists should more actively master new technologies. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the relevant statement in his speech during the second congress of Belarusian scientists on 13 December, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko noted: “Medical scientists should more actively master new technologies, work out and introduce modern screening programs, put efforts into making the available medical services cheaper.”
In his words, improving the demographic situation is the most important task medical science faces. Despite accomplishments in this sphere a number of problems remain unresolved. “Unfortunately, Belarusians have to travel abroad to have some diseases treated. We still have minor issues with diagnostics, accessibility and affordability of complicated surgeries, preventive measures,” said the president.
