MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus is gearing up for an international exhibition Belagro 2012 which is due to take place on 5-10 June 2012, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Agriculture and Food Minister Mikhail Rusyi chaired the first meeting of the organizing committee on the preparation for the Belarusian Agricultural Week. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of the exhibition for the national agro-industrial complex as a platform to demonstrate the recent achievements of the industry.
This year Belagro will be housed at the showground of the Belarusian company OAO Gastellovskoye, Minsk District, and at the Football Manege in Minsk.
The Gastellovskoye will display the up-to-date agricultural vehicles, latest agricultural crop and livestock selections, latest research in mechanization of agriculture, farming, potato and vegetable growing, etc. The second venue will feature expositions of processing companies.
Intention to partake in the exhibition has already been voiced by a number of countries including Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, and the Russian Federation.
Belagro is one of Belarus’ largest agricultural exhibitions. A total of 376 companies from 16 countries partook in it last year. The expo was attended by agricultural specialists from more than 30 countries.
