MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor has acquired a European Union certificate for the industrial design of the universal loader Amkodor 320. The certificate will be valid for 25 years, Amkodor representatives told BelTA.
In December 2009 the company filed the application with the EU Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market, which is a full member of the Intellectual Property Protection Union. Amkodor is one of the first Belarusian industrial companies to acquire an industrial design certificate registered in the European Union.
The document, which verifies the priority, authorship and the owner’s exclusive right to the industrial design, is valid in 27 countries of the European Union. Amkodor now has the right to ban using the industrial design and forbid its unsanctioned use by third parties. The notion “use” includes an unlimited list of actions, including manufacturing, sales offer, sales, export and storage of a product that contains the registered industrial design.
With this powerful legal backup, Amkodor plans to push the loader Amkodor 320 onto the European market of special machines. The loader had acquired the Belarusian and Russian certificates earlier. After that the company plans to register the industrial design of the skid steer loader Amkodor 211 in the European Union.
Amkodor is one of the CIS’ and Europe’s largest manufacturers of road construction, municipal, snow-removing, timber industry, agricultural and other special machines. It offers over 80 models and modifications of vehicles. Amkodor machines are used in more than 30 countries across the globe. The company employs about 5,000 people.
