MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The Chinese air carrier Air China helps advance cooperation between Belarus and China, BelTA learned from Air China’s Commerce Director Weigang Zhang during the presentation of Beijing’s tourism potential in Minsk on 21 June. The presentation was arranged with assistance of the Beijing Tourism Development Committee.

Weigang Zhang said that the number of Chinese, who visit Belarus, and the number of Belarusians, who visit China, has increased considerably in the last two years. He attributed the increase to direct flights between Minsk and Beijing, which Air China made available as of 1 May 2015. “As an air carrier we intend to continue helping develop Belarusian-Chinese partnership particularly taking into account the joint efforts to implement the One Belt, One Road initiative,” stressed the Air China executive.

Weigang Zhang pointed out that it was the first presentation of Beijing’s tourism potential in Minsk. The presentation was meant to tap into the existing potential for advancing Belarus-China tourism ties. Participants of the event were made familiar with Beijing’s tourism potential, the city’s culture and traditions. They also took part in a draw and exchanged contact information with two Chinese major travel agencies Utour and ChinaYouthTravel.
