MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Governments of Belarus and China signed a framework agreement on the China-Belarus industrial park in Minsk on 18 September, BelTA has learned.
The document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Tozik and Deputy Commerce Minister of China Zhong Shan. The cooperation agreement on the Belarus-China industrial park project was signed as well. The agreement was signed by Horizont Director General Yuri Predko, President of China Eximbank Li Ruogu and the President of the Chinese Engineering Corporation SAMS.
Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the meeting with China’s delegation led by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Wu Bango: “We have great expectations regarding the Belarus-China industrial park”. According to him, this is a very big infrastructure project. “We believe that we will manage to repeat the success of China-Singapore industrial park in the town of Suzhou,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
Moreover, on 18 September the House of Government played host to the ceremonies of signing several important documents. Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik and Deputy Commerce Minister of China Zhong Shan signed the governmental agreement on the technical and economic cooperation. Belarus’ Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov and President of China Eximbank Li Ruogu signed the financial cooperation agreement on privatization and Chinese investments in 2011-2012. The framework agreement on privatization of Belarusian enterprises was signed by Belarus’ Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov and Director General of Sinomach Corporation Zhang Chun.
Earlier the parties signed a framework agreement on the intention to finance the investment project to revamp Dobrush Paper Factory.
The parties also signed an investment project to build Mozyr Soda Plant in Gomel Oblast.
Director General of Vitebskenergo Pavel Kharitonov and the China Development Bank signed a loan agreement to to build the Vitebsk hydroelectric power plant.
The Belarusian Military-Industrial Committee and the China Great Wall industry corporation signed agreement to create the national system of satellite communications in Belarus.
