Alyona Lanskaya – Belarus’ contestant at the Eurovision 2013

Belarus was represented by winner of the national selection Alyona Lanskaya.

Alyona Lanskaya was named second most beautiful and stylish participants of Eurovision 2013 (the first position was given to Ukraine’s Zlata Ognevich).

Belarus’ contestant performed 11th in the first semi-final on 14 May. The show was held in Malmo Arena. Alyona Lanskaya’s entry, Solayoh, is about a fantastic planet populated by kind-hearted and sincere people whose mission is to inspire people and breathe love into them.

The music and lyrics were written by Belgian composer Marc Paelinck and British poet Martin King. The video was filmed in Istanbul by Turkish producer and music video director Senol Korkmaz. The dances were choreographed by one of the most famous Serbian schools of dancing Zillenium led by Alex Raifovic.

Alyona Lanskaya was clad in a dazzling dress decorated by 70,000 Swarovski rhinestones. On this day, on 14 May, according to astronomers, a star called Solayoh from the Great Bear constellation was in the zenith. The star was given to the singer by the German Titov international star catalogue.

Alyona’s performance that night was a success. The audience and the jury voted her through to the Grand Final of the Eurovision 2013 that was held on 18 May.

"Belarus’ contestant Alyona Lanskaya took the 16th place in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Alyona Lanskaya got 48 points getting the highest 12 points from Ukraine. Other countries from which Belarus got points were Israel (3 points), Moldova (4), Azerbaijan (7), Armenia (5), Malta (2), Greece (1), Montenegro (3), Georgia (5), Macedonia (5) and Lithuania (1).

An international team of professionals from Belarus, Serbia, Germany, Slovenia, South Africa and Greece was working on the image and the show of Belarus’ contestant.

Alyona Lanskaya – Solayoh

The video to Alyona Lanskaya’s Eurovision 2013 entry Solayoh was filmed in Istanbul by Turkish producer and music video director Senol Korkmaz.

Alyona Lanskaya noted that Solayoh is about a fantastic planet where people believe in miracles and take everything as a miracle.

Alexander Rybak, Belarus-born Norwegian singer who won Eurovision 2009, appeared in the video as a guest star.
